I love learning and educating myself and other people about fitness, massage, and wellness. It’s a passion and also has turned out to be a talent.

I pride myself in working with as many kinds of people as possible. In this goal, I have done bodywork sessions with — athletes of all kinds: powerlifters, soccer, football, and baseball players, yoga instructors, cyclists, runners; servers and line cooks; new and old mothers; trade professionals and civil laborers; desk workers and instrumentalists.

“I have always been a problem solver. When something needs to be fixed I want to fix it 100%. I’m not satisfied with anything else.”

Years ago, when Michael Cutitta’s parents both sought help from a chiropractor, they couldn’t have known what an impact their actions would have on their son. “I watched them get better with the treatments, and it always sounded like a different experience than they had when they went to the doctor’s office,” recalls Dr. Cutitta, who was influenced enough by the experience that he is now a chiropractor himself. He opened Cutitta Chiropractic in a renovated row house at 4733 Butler St in Lawrenceville.

A native of New Jersey, Dr. Cutitta attended the University of Pittsburgh as an undergraduate and then went to Los Angeles to study and train in chiropractics. “After spending time there, I realized that Pittsburgh was a city I held close to my heart, and I came back,” he says. Good move - he became reacquainted with an old friend who is now his wife, and set up shop a few blocks away from where they lived.

Dr. Cutitta is now enjoying helping his patients find the same relief from pain that his parents did. “We can pretty much treat any joint in the body - head to toe,” he says. The majority of the complaints he hears? “Headaches and backaches, but I get a lot of shoulder and foot injuries too.” As a specialist in prenatal chiropractic care he also helps many patients through their pregnancies, reducing early term symptoms like nausea and later term symptoms like back pain.

He also enjoys the Lawrenceville experience. “It seems like every month there’s something new coming to the neighborhood,” he says, “whether it’s an art gallery, a boutique, or a coffee shop. I wanted to be part of the energy of the neighborhood.”
